As part of his duties, he participates in investment process and supervises the legal affairs of all the subsidiaries and investments of HDG. In this role, he accompanies the business partners of HDG in their development and growth. He is also part of the board of Groupe Germain Inc.<\/p>\n<p>A recognized professional, Fran\u00e7ois Amyot has been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions, including the recent distinctions of 2018 Legal Counsellor of the Year from M&amp;A Club Canada, Star Lawyer 2018 Acritas UK and named Lawyer of the Year in corporate Law for Quebec City in the 2019 edition of\u00a0<em>Best Lawyers in Canada<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining HDG, he was an associate for over 29 years at the law firm McCarthy T\u00e9trault where he practised business law, mainly in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, business finance and securities.<\/p>\n<p>Fran\u00e7ois is chairman of the board of the\u00a0<em>Carrefour international de th\u00e9\u00e2tre\u00a0<\/em>as well as chairman of the board of\u00a0<em>Excellence Sportive Qu\u00e9bec-L\u00e9vis.\u00a0<\/em>He is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds the ICD.D designation.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.82&#8243; divider_style=&#8221;solid&#8221; divider_position=&#8221;top&#8221; height=&#8221;30px&#8221; box_shadow_position=&#8221;outer&#8221; color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; show_divider=&#8221;off&#8221; \/][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><div class=\"et_pb_row et_pb_row_0 et_pb_row_empty\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div> Fran\u00e7ois Amyot A graduate in law from Universit\u00e9 Laval and member of the Quebec Bar since 1980, Fran\u00e7ois Amyot is Vice-President of Investments and Chief Legal Officer at HDG since September 2018.
