Olivier Desmarais

Olivier Desmarais is Senior Vice-President of Power Corporation and Power Financial since January 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from McGill University. He has been a member of the Québec Bar since 2009.

Prior to joining Power in 2014, Olivier Desmarais was Director of Busines Deelopment at Square Victoria Digital Properties. From 2010 to 2013, he worked at Putnam Investments as an Associate. 

Mr. Desmarais was appointed Chairman of Power Energy Corporation in 2015, and is a Director for many other institutions, including West Life, Investors Group and Mackenzie. In 2018, he was named Chair of the Canada China Business Council. Olivier Desmarais is also member of the board of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.
